Greg Keeter - Head Coach & Owner

After many years of marginal fitness alternating between the limited approaches of body building and sports, I found something that worked: CrossFit. This was just in time, since I then weighted 245 pounds and was mostly sedentary and an uncontrolled diabetic taking an enormous amount of medicine. Nothing I tried worked.

I was finally able through a combination of the Zone Diet and CrossFit to stabilize my weight at 185 and drastically reduce my medication. This was unprecedented! I weighted 205 while in High School! Never in my life have I been in better physical condition than I am right now.

The more successful I became at losing weight and feeling good through the Zone Diet and CrossFit the more convinced I became that helping others achieve a similar success was what I wanted to do with my life. I know it sounds corny but it really is true.

With clarity of mind and purpose I threw myself full-time into creating and running CrossFit Tallahassee. First, I started in my garage, as the originally CrossFit did, but just as Greg Glassman predicted, I shortly outgrew that space and had to find a new facility.

Our 5,380 square foot facility is off of Capital Circle just south of Park Ave.

Teresa is fitness enthusiast who first got serious after having two children in quick succession. She is also a certified personal trainer experienced working with all ages and fitness levels.

 Kim Williams - CFKids Coach/Trainer

 

Wife , mom, CEO of the home, all of the above, but who am I? After years of taking care of everyone else, I was a wreck! I went from full speed ahead doing everything being super mom to a fully depleted exhausted woman with nothing left to give.

I was diagnosed  with Metabolic Syndrome and eventually Hypothyroidism. The pounds were packing on even though I still made attempts to eat healthy and bike ride 16 miles 5 days a week. I just hated what my body was doing and I no longer had control over it. Thanks to a longtime friend I was directed to Crossfit.

Having grown up as an active person and loving a challenge it was the perfect fit for me. Crossfit was do-able, even in my very unconditioned state, thanks to scaling of the movements. Everyday was empowering to me as I completed the daily workout in a most positive environment. I was able to focus more on my success, growing stronger and faster, and for a change not dwell on the number my weight was at. Regardless the number my body was changing for the better, getting smaller and healthier-I had the labs to prove it! Crossfit gave me the most positive atmosphere to strive for health and fitness in. What could be better than to surround yourself with others passionate about this program. We celebrate each persons goals, recognizing we all have different abilities while working together to get there.

During my journey into Crossfit it was important to learn proper form , technique and reasoning behind the program. Hence, my attending a Level 1 Certification  and the CFKids cert. I am a teacher, by nature and education. I taught elementary school for years prior to raising my own two sons. I love to prove through guidance and encouragement that "You can do it!"

My desire while coaching CFKids is to bring out the best in each child. Building self esteem and physical strength that will naturally lead to better performance in life and school. CF Kids is a proven safe program that leads to overall fitenss not just specific sport training. We love kids with two left feet and star players. You are an athlete when you walk in the door, and you will be proud of your accomplishments when you walk out after your workout, regardless of your level. And to our rockstar parents, I am willing to bet, that after watching your kids grow in their fitness ability, you will be eager to start you journey into Crossfit!
