CFTally: Frequently Asked Questions > CrossFit Beginners > Why do you charge so much for the Foundation course?

Search the FAQ for entries containing:

Well, of course, we don't think it's too much, but here's our thinking.  There are three Foundation sessions that we plan to take an hour but often spend much more time with you. Over the standard monthly fee the Foundation course cost $100 more, so your first month of training fees is higher by that amount.

It's very important that you be introduced to CrossFit in a good safe way. At CFTally we are interested in teaching you why it works as much as how to do it. Our reasoning is that if you know why something ought to be a certain way you'll be much more likely to do it that way.

We don't subscribe to the coaching philosophy that says, "watch me now you do it."

We believe that if we can't articulate what it is we want you to do then we really don't know much about it, do we?

Ideally, we want you to be able to someday tell us the correct way a movement should be done. And you know what? We hear it everyday from our athletes! They get it because they have been taught right.

That teaching starts with the Foundation course. We think you'll be amazed at the things we teach you and how they'll apply to your everyday life.  Compare that with the "watch me, now do it" approach.
