What can you say but wow!  Way to go Tyler!

Tyler making it go up and down.

Tyler's kipping might look funny but it's effective.

Yes, a kicking Fran time does have its price!

Suzanne - Rx's Fran!

On her last Fran attempt Suzanne used the purple band, or what I call the "fashion statement." Today she did Fran as written. Everyone give her a high five when you see her!

Can you tell that Suzanne is NOT a morning person?Nice picture!

David - aka "The Standard"

Even after what I'm sure was a large and luscious Turkey Day David managed to beat his July Fran time by 32 seconds!

Way to go Dave!

Nice forward swing. Simple fact: If David couldn't kip he couldn't do an Rx Fran.

All Right! That's the way to get your chin over the bar.David wins the November Hardest Working CrossFitter Award!

Coach - Thanks for the hospitality and coaching. Enjoyed my visit to Crossfit Tallahassee, even though the evil Dr. Tabata made a cameo. That guy is everywhere! Keep up the high energy and creative programming.
Dear Coach,

I visited CF Tally from West Virginia a few weeks back.  Earlier this week I was in DC and went to a local globo gym (free admission from my hotel).  It was scary.  I was afraid I would begin walking elliptically, and the lone pull-up bar was mostly serving as a thing to grab whilst you stretch your torso.  I tried it out and it was pull-up compatible, but I drew some stares. Nonetheless, my workout was lame.  The next day I went to a neighboring park which had useful exercise equipment like a park bench and a grassy area.  Remembering your web address, I looked you up and did the squat, lunge, dip WOD from your Offsite collection.  Thanks for the on-going, long-distance help.  You're a life-(or sanity)-saver!

Laura

I started CrossFit at the urging of my brother, Joe, a cyclist and triathlete.  At first I was turned off because of the cost.   I could work out at my old high school for free.  Nevertheless Joe convinced me that at least a month would be worth it.  And it was.
I came to CrossFit with an athletic background.  I did volleyball, weightlifting and track and field in high school.  My forte has always been weights, and my weakness aerobics.  So I won’t even lie, I was wary about the running and the timed workouts.  But as Greg likes to say, “you won’t overcome your weaknesses unless you practice them.”  My 800 m time is down from 5:19 to 4:08.   What makes CrossFit so much fun is that I am able to do what I love (lifting weights) while also doing what I don’t love but is good for me (cardio).  There’s hardly a more accomplished feeling than after completing 75 power snatches as fast as possible or switching between an 800 m run and 15 squats for five sets.  CrossFit has something for everyone, whether you like the power of weights, like me, or the stability (or lack thereof!) of gymnastics, or the freedom of a run.
Shape-wise, because that’s always a big deal, I’m slimming down.  Honestly, I look the best that I ever have.  CrossFit involves a good balance of the three kinds of exercise (weights, cardio, gymnastics) so that I am trim but also toned, and anyone else can be too.

Tyler

More Great Results to Report

Tyler has been CrossFitting with us since the middle of April and he's made huge strides in his fitness. In thirty training days, Tyler has increased in every metric. He increased his push-ups and sit-ups by double, and his body weight squats went from 34 to 44. While at the same time he decreased his average running time by 9 seconds. Amazingly, his pull-ups went up by a factor of ten from 2 to 20!

Check out his fitness assessment form below:

Clarence did his initial fitness assessment on January 9, 2009. His response to the assessment really concerned me because it took him about 20 minutes to recover and he was pretty sick. I really wondered if I'd see Clarence again after that! I shouldn't have worried!
